Marrickville Pipes
This series, inspired by Bernd and Hilla Becher’s typologies, documents post-war industrial architecture in Marrickville, NSW, a suburb that has undergone gentrification. Using a strict front-facing approach, I focus on the overlooked details of factory façades, especially pipes, typically found at the rear of the buildings. The series captures the individuality of each structure while placing them within a broader context of a society of structures.
