Big Numbers was an exhibition of artists whose work shares a common theme of charting space and time, often incorporating some mathematical or numerical component. The works explore potential approaches to examining information about the world, finding patterns that might otherwise not be immediately apparent, or creating maps and signposts to territories that might otherwise be lost or go unnoticed.



Installation elements: Jumper worn by figure on side of road in my dream near Pendle Hill; Books once owned by Rita Harding, with ephemera and notes, incl. dedication from Catherine Harding on eve of the fall of Eastern Bloc; Copy of Labyrinths bought at Clitheroe Library book sale, incl. Funes the Memorius; Map found near Clarion House in Nelson, UK; Collection of photographs of Daina, obtained after her death. Photographer unknown; Collection of stones found along the pathway beside the Burnley Canal near Pendle Hill; Portrait of Daina; CD of field recordings and audio collected and compiled in Latvia, Glasgow, and Northern Ireland.
